Murphy Trucking, Inc. started in 1977 as Murphy Tank Truck Service.  Owner Max L. Murphy had only one truck but an outstanding work ethic that still exists today as the company has grown to over 30 trucks and operates in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

Murphy Tank Truck Service began servicing the oil industry in 1977 with the primary focus of hauling water to and from drilling sites. Murphy Tank Truck Service began crude oil hauling in 1981 for various companies such as Pure Transportation and Union Oil.  In 1993 the company expanded its crude oil transportation with the purchase of Marathon's Illinois Basin trucking division. In 1997, Murphy Tank Truck Service became Murphy Trucking, Inc.  and currently provides quality crude oil hauling for Countrymark Refining & Logistics, LLC; Lincoln Crude Oil Marketing, LLC; and Plains Marketing, LP. as well as water services for numerous customers throughout the Illinois Basin.
