Murphy Trucking, Inc. started in 1977 as Murphy Tank Truck Service.  Owner Max L. Murphy had only one truck but an outstanding work ethic that still exists today as the company has grown to over 20 trucks and operates in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

Murphy Tank Truck Service began servicing the oil industry in 1977 with the primary focus of hauling water to and from drilling sites. Murphy Tank Truck Service began crude oil hauling in 1981 for various companies such as Pure Transportation and Union Oil.  In 1993 the company expanded its crude oil transportation operations with the purchase of Marathon's Illinois Basin trucking division. In 1997, Murphy Tank Truck Service became Murphy Trucking, Inc. In 2014, Murphy Trucking, Inc. became the premier trucking partner of Lincoln Crude Oil Marketing, LLC. Our partnership with Lincoln Crude Oil Marketing, LLC has allowed for not only growth for our company but an essential opportunity for Illinois Basin producers who value integrity and prompt service.
